Danger at Site Entrance
Reported via mobile in the Other Disability Access Issue (NH) category anonymously at 17:59, Tue 15 July 2025
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7882929.
Good afternoon, I am the manager of Eltisley Manor, a nursing home in St Neots. I recently contacted Cambs County Council to raise these concerns but they redirected me to you and I wish to invite you to our site to see how dangerous the stretch of the A428 we are based on is.
There have been so many accidents and near misses. In the last 6 months there have been 3 collisions directly outside our site where my nursing team have had to provide on scene care and my team have managed traffic until police arrival.
The stretch of road requires a reduced speed limit, average speed cameras, turning ahead and vulnerable people signage and a turning space to allow traffic flow.
Please do come and visit us and take a look, I, my team, our neighbors and most importantly the vulnerable people we support and their families, would hugely appreciate it.
Thank you

Thank you for contacting National Highways.
The category you selected for your report, Disability Access, is for future physical changes that we might need to make to our Network, that might aid people with a disability. Unfortunately, the issue you reported doesn’t fall into this category.
However, we believe the work being undertaken to improve the A428 between Black Cat and Caxton Gibbet should in the longer term improve the situation for people accessing your property. National Highways
