Overgrown preventing visibility
Reported via desktop in the Overgrown or obscuring view (NH) category anonymously at 09:21, Tue 8 July 2025
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7825480.
I live by Dundas so use this junction daily, The trees and bushes are overgrown such that I have to pull out into the road to see if anything is coming. By which time, if I then see one is I cant reverse if another car has come up behind me. Almost caused an accident yday as the bus had to slow and wait for me to reverse. Bus driver very angry but not my fault. Needs cutting back. Also the church lane/brassknocker junction is dangerous as cars come up brassknocker so fast you are at risk of being hit if crossing from, church lane straight over. Can you ad a mirror so we can see traffic or a sign to request they slow due to cars crossing? Ive had 3 near misses in the last few months on the school run home. Very stressful! Thanks

Thank you for making your report about overgrown vegetation on the A36. We appreciate you taking the time to contact us with your concerns.
The bushes have been cut back slightly on the A36 to improve visibility when pulling out of the junction in question. More work will be required after bird nesting season.
Due to the stretch of roads we cover in the South West, our resources must be shared equally. Work undertaken must be carried out on a priority basis. Over the last 5 years there have been no recorded injury collisions at this location. We have no evidence of any collisions which might give it high priority for action. However, the location will continue to be monitored.
The Church Lane/ Brassknocker junction isn't part of our Strategic Road Network. This falls under the responsibility of the local highways authority so we'd recommend sharing your concerns with them.
