Sunken section of segregated shared footway/cycleway next to the A3 trunk road. The defect is located between the Clay Lane Burpham junction and Potters Lane, adjacent to the gatehouse entrance of Sutton Place. In my opinion the defect is dangerous for cyclists in low light or dark conditions and particularly for cyclists headed southbound, where the headlights of oncoming A3 northbound will distract/dazzle cyclist's vision.
