The missing sign was located beside the A259 just north of the border where it passes into Kent

Reported via mobile in the Damage to Sign (NH) category anonymously at 14:24, Saturday 5 July 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7813287.

The Kent county sign is missing. The East Sussex sign on the opposite side is still in place so this should be a guide as to where the border is. Please liaise with Kent Highways if it is their responsibility as it is impossible to report a missing sign on a trunk road via their website.

Updates

  • Thank you for your report.

This will be our asset to maintain. We can confirm that the recent sign inspection carried out in June 2025 correctly identified the sign is missing. The inspection data is used to inform our sign renewal schemes.

The sign is listed on our register for replacement as soon as funding becomes available. However, its renewal is subject to the allocation of designated funds, Unfortunately, this boundary sign falls under the informatory category, which places it lower on the renewal priority list.

As a result, we are unable to provide a timeline for when the sign will be replaced.

    Kind Regards

    National Highways
