Ruts and deep potholes

Reported via mobile in the Road surface (NH) category anonymously at 10:34, Thu 3 July 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7802376.

Colmans bridge goes over the A12 at junction 21. There are deep ruts on the bridge and large potholes. When cycling you can see in the pothole what looks like bricks below the road surface. Approximately 6 inches deep. It also now feels like you’re cycling over cables that are being exposed. The ruts are dangerous if smaller car wheels,, motor bikes or cyclists get caught in them.

Updates

  • Thank you for making your report regarding the road surface condition on the B1389 at Coleman's Bridge. We have asked our inspection team to attend this location and assess the issue.

If any work is needed, they will arrange for this to happen. Should no immediate work be required we will continue to monitor this during our regular inspections.

Although we always aim to complete repairs as quickly as possible, timescales do vary as we try to minimise disruption to customers by combining activities into single closures and always ensuring the safety of our people.
