Signs missing/lit signs not working
Reported via desktop in the Damage to Sign (NH) category anonymously at 09:52, Thursday 3 July 2025
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7802007.
Hi National Highways, just doing my annual check in to see if anybody has managed to pop down and fix any of the damaged/defective signs since i reported them all an age ago. None of the illuminated signs on any of the slips to Taddington Roundabout are working and in addition many of the ones at the junction are damaged or missing. These are your signs not KCC. The street lights are have been stuck on for months too and the same issue with defective illuminated signs exists at Junction 2 and 4 too. I am sure you can appreciate, that to the outside observer, it seems National Highways have a complete lack of grip on the upkeep of their network, especially given the glacial pace of repairs. Perhaps il check back in another year to see if anything has changed

Thank you for your report.
We are aware that these issues remain unresolved at these locations. Unfortunately, we are currently unable to provide a specific timeframe for when the illuminated lighting will be restored. However, we continue to work towards identifying a solution.
We also confirm a couple of non-illuminated signs located on our network at junction 2 are listed for replacement as part of a future scheme, subject to available funding. Please note that the renewal of any asset depends on the allocation of designated funds, which may be prioritised for other higher priority assets across our network first.
Kind regards,
National Highways
