M1s j15-14 - m1b 98.2

Reported via mobile in the Main Carriageway (NH) category anonymously at 22:24, Wed 2 July 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7800182.

Highway maintenance PN20FMX Renault Trucks Master 35 LWB Location: M1S J15-14 - M1B 98.2 19.16hrs 1m09s on the video. My vehicle: MAN TGX 26.470

At this time, something is thrown from the n/s window! When I analysed this further, the angle of trajectory/speed when passing the mirror, suggests this could have been thrown by the driver rather than a passenger if indeed there was one. When the vehicle passes, the video is not conclusive enough through the side window, even with a high-vis jacket visible, to conclude there is one. As well as being littering, my concern is that when this object lands on the carriageway, it doesn't react as one might expect it to had it been light in weight. Instead when it lands it bounces twice slightly and then stops. Could this be something heavier, concealed in this way that has the potential to cause punctures? If it is, then this is also a wreckless action, albeit conjecture. Would it be a coincidence though, if close to this incident tyre damage had been caused to other vehicles! Video of this incident is available.
