Vegetation obstructing cycle path

Reported via desktop in the Pavement/footpath/cycleway/bridleway issue (NH) category anonymously at 15:16, Wednesday 2 July 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7798088.

All along the cycle path between ivybridge and Lee Mill its hard to cycle without being hit by branches and other vegetation. Also coming out from cycle path along A38 onto Cornwood road (coming from Lee Mill) its impossible to see oncoming vehicles from the right. I also noticed lot of rubbish dumped along the path

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways concerning overgrown vegetation.

We carry out regular inspections of all our routes and cut the vegetation back where we find that it is limiting visibility of road signs or other traffic. Your concerns have been passed to our maintenance team. They’ll inspect the area shortly and, if necessary, arrange for vegetation to be cut.

Litter along the A38 is the responsibility of the local authority for that section.

If you require any further information please contact our Customer Contact Centre on 0300 123 5000 or info@nationalhighways.co.uk.

    Kind regards
