Uneven Tarmac on A5036 Causing Noise and Vibrations from HGV Trailers

Reported via mobile in the Road surface (NH) category anonymously at 00:10, Wed 2 July 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7794532.

Issue caused by recent roadworks on the A5036 near St Matthews Avenue. While I appreciate the efforts to maintain our local roads, the new tarmac is uneven, higher than the rest of the road surface, creating a bump. This has resulted in significant noise and vibrations in the house from HGVs and their trailers using this major road all day and night, including in the early hours past midnight. This disturbance is particularly disruptive for residents, including young families on our street, as the noise and shaking are constant and especially noticeable during late-night and early-morning hours. Before these repairs, this level of disruption was not an issue. I understand road maintenance can be challenging, and I am eager to resolve this. I kindly request an assessment of the uneven tarmac on the A5036 and solutions to mitigate the noise and vibrations caused by HGVs. A site visit to evaluate the issue would be greatly appreciated, along with any information on proposed remedies.
