Overgrown grass causing obstructed view.

Reported via mobile in the Overgrown or obscuring view (NH) category anonymously at 16:19, Tue 1 July 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7792858.

Overgrown grass at head height is severely reducing visibility on the uphill stretch of bends from Dean Ptior to Dry Bridge Rattery offslip on A38. There was a minor shunt and several near misses there today caused by slow moving traffic behind an abnormal load which wasn't visible until last minute. I travel this route 6 times daily and it's just an accident waiting to happen which can be prevented if urgent action is taken. Ironically the carriageway west of this has been cut in central reservation on the straight stretches which doesn't impress the view ahead! This needs immediate attention.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways concerning overgrown vegetation.

We carry out regular inspections of all our routes and cut the vegetation back where we find that it is limiting visibility of road signs or other traffic. Your concerns have been passed to our maintenance team. They’ll inspect the area shortly and, if necessary, arrange for vegetation to be cut.

If you require any further information please contact our Customer Contact Centre on 0300 123 5000 or info@nationalhighways.co.uk.
