Spiral road markings faded

Reported via desktop in the Faded / Hard to see (NH) category anonymously at 08:00, Sun 29 June 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7779581.

Your previous response to the reporting of faded white lines state that they are not less than 30% visible. Whilst I agree that the markings at the lights/junction of the roundabouts isnt, the lines used to guide cars around the spiral of the roundabout are very faded and no doubt would be below 30% visible. There are cars causing accidents nearly each day as a result of the faded markings which are stopping lane discipline because of the faded markings. Cars due to turn left onto A2 london bound are using the left lane to go across and right at the roundabout, due to the markings not being visible any more. These desperately need refreshing before an accident.

Updates

  • Thank you for your report.

Our team have reviewed the location as part of our weekly inspection and confirmed the lines are still visible on the Ebbsfleet Western Roundabout. Whilst they are becoming faded, they are not a safety concern at the moment. However, our team have raised a request for the reinstatement of the lines on the roundabout. This is expected to take place within the next few months subject to road space approval to close the road.

    Kind Regards
