Lights phasing badly
Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 15:23, Fri 20 June 2025
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7740009.
Traffic coming along the worpleadon road to join the a3 is backing up badly because of the traffic lights as you go under the bridhe staying red for minutes, this has been ongoing now for 2 weeks at least causing endless delays, this is a busy road/junction!

. At peak time this leads to severe delays across North Guildford feeder roads (the A322 to and the A323). Traffic flowing from the A25 through the lights to join the A3 is not subject to any delay at all. Having queued 15 minutes to travel from Woodbridge Hill to the roundabout (200 yards) it is extremely frustrating to arrive at the roundabout to find the lights allowing traffic from the A25 are green for a long spell and there is no traffic there at all.
Even in off peak times, traffic also backs up from the Northbound slipway back on to the A3 – I have witnessed two shunts on this stretch caused by cars coming round the corner and suddenly finding a stationary queue of cars waiting to get off the A3 and on to Dennis Roundabout.

Thank you for contacting National Highways.
The information you provided around the operation of the traffic lights has been passed to our technical team to review our data.
We aim to keep the traffic flowing as smoothly as possible for all directions and recognise that on occasions we might need to make changes.
If we find that any changes are due here, we will undertake those once we have established a suitable solution.
Kind regards
