High risk of accident

Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 23:23, Wed 18 June 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7731324.

When I travel East on the A52 from the Nottingham/Gamston direction and need to turn right to Stragglethorpe Road at Holme House, the queues are backing up all the way onto the national speed limit A52. I notice this particularly between approx. 7:30 and 8:30am. It is only a matter of time before an artic lorry ploughs into the back of stationery traffic at 60mph, or other vehicles crash at 70mph. Traffic is swerving back into the left lane or slamming on because all of a sudden traffic is not moving in front of them. Not sure what the solution is but potentially either slow the traffic to 40 from around the Service Station to highlight the danger, make the right hand lane right turn only, or change the phasing on those lights at high risk times, but that would then lead to delays on a main trunk road. I beg you to do something though to help me feel safe on my way to work, my kids are too young to find out that their dad has been involved in a serious accident because he was waiting to turn right off a 70mph road.
