Boaters have reported to the EA metal protruding from the underside of the bridge. They are concerned their canopies will be damaged by the protrusion.

River users (River Ancholme) have reported metal bars/strips protruding from the underside of the M180 bridge between Jct 4 and Jct 5 underneath the bridge. They are concerned that damage to their boats will be caused by the protrusion.

    I can confirm a site visit has taken place, and we've found that the longitudinal joint formwork has come loose and is hanging down from the bridge deck over the river.

    We have booked an underbridge unit and traffic management closure for the 16 July 2025 to remove them. We apologise, but this is the earliest date we could get the underbridge unit. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
