Footpath running along side A27 from Hollyacres BN13 3TD to Tyne walk FMS7225821 refers

Reported via desktop in the Pavement/footpath/cycleway/bridleway issue (NH) category anonymously at 16:42, Wed 11 June 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7695173.

Months ago I reported an issue with the footpath that runs alongside the A27 from Hollyacres BN13 3TD to the edge of Tyne walk FMS7225821 refers. No action has taken place the footpath remains full of tree debris reducing the width of the footpath and forcing you to walk closer to the A27. This hazard is becoming precarious due to traffic speeding up as they approach the 70mph speed limit further along the road. Your road furniture of red and white cones and metal stands still decorates the overgrowing weeds and branches.? Grateful for an update on when your engineers will visit to look at the issue and subsequently rectify the ongoing serious problem. If your engineers are unaware of where to go please drop me a line so we can arrange a visit date I am more than happy to show them the problem.

Updates

  • Thank you for your report.

Our safety inspector has inspected the stretch of footpath highlighted and doesn't have any safety concerns currently.

The footpath will be cut under routine cyclic maintenance and we will look to bring this location forward in the programme. In the meantime, we will continue to monitor when any safety issues will be raised for priority mitigation.

    Kind regards
