Trees excessively high/starting to bend and need topping

Reported via desktop in the Overgrown or obscuring view (NH) category anonymously at 11:10, Thursday 5 June 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7665756.

Trees behind the houses which meet the bypass at Thomas Penson Road (specifically behind houses no1, 3, 5, 7 etc) have grown to an excessive height and not been topped when the sides were done last year. They need urgently topping as they are starting to droop over in to the gardens. This has been an issue for a few years now.

When we all questioned why the tops were not being cut last year, we were told, we have just been told to tidy the sides (Which also now need doing again as well by the way).

On top of it now being dangerous with the potential for trees to come down in to property gardens and buildings, we have also lost 45 minutes of sunlight since last year due to the rapid growth which is unacceptable. If a tree does fall and cause damage, national highways are going to be held liable for not keeping the trees at a safe and reasonable height.
