Give way sign missing

Reported via mobile in the Damage to Sign (NH) category anonymously at 22:18, Sun 1 June 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7647681.

The traffic lights around J3 of the M55 at Kirkham have been out of order for months if not years and temporary Give Way signs are in use. However, when approaching from the north on the A585 to then turn left onto the M55 slip road, the Give Way sign that should be on the left side for this lane is missing. As there are no white road lines to give way at the roundabout, drivers think they have right of access and don’t give way which is a danger to those drivers already on the roundabout coming round from the south side of the A585 whilst turning right to join the M55 towards Preston. I have had 2 near misses with drivers coming into the roundabout in front of me when they should be giving way. What is the plan to repair the traffic lights that have been out of order for a very long time? If there’s no imminent plan to get them working again, the Give Way signs need to be properly installed on all entrance roads to the roundabout and give way white lines marked on the road so drivers know to give way to traffic already on the roundabout.
