Dangerous loose paving slab with cavity beneath

Reported via desktop in the Pavement/footpath/cycleway/bridleway issue (NH) category anonymously at 14:10, Mon 26 May 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7618433.

About 20m before the entrance to Garthwaite, on the pavement on the eastbound side of the A36, I walked over a paving slab in the grass directly adjacent to the main footpath. It gave way immediately, almost flipping over, and appears to have a cavity beneath – I am not sure how deep. I was lucky not to have injured myself and it is a hazard for anyone walking on this side, particularly in the dark.
