Tree Blocking View of Residents Exiting Driveway

Reported via desktop in the Overgrown or obscuring view (NH) category anonymously at 16:34, Fri 23 May 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7610759.

A row of trees have been planted by a resident. The one at the end is blocking the vision for residents exiting their driveway so is impacting road safety. Please can this issue be fixed.

Updates

  • Neighbour in Hantone Hill has planted a row of trees as marked in black circle on photo attached. On previous enquiry to BaNES Council (2021), I was informed that the land is jointly owned by National Highways & BaNES Council. As I exit from driveway to turn right, visibility to the left is obscured by end tree where it covers a blind spot of traffic coming from the left. I also gave teenage children independently crossing the main road, therefore it is not ideal for visibility to be reduced on a main road that is already busy. I have already discussed this with neighbour x2 and requested him to remove the end tree for safety reasons, which he is not willing to do (although it is not even his land to plant on?).
