Failure of road surface

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7597494.

Complete failure of road surface on bridge over M20 between Charing and pluckley. KCC previously state this is not their responsibility as it’s part of the bridge. Extremely dangerous as no street lighting and multiple large potholes that will damage vehicles. Due to being national speed limit a damaged vehicle could pose risk to motorway traffic below if it loses control. Witnessed cars going on wrong side of road to avoid. This has been an issue for a long time and not rectified!

    Having reviewed the location, we can confirm the road is owned and maintained by Kent County Council (KCC) and the bridge structure underneath where the road has deteriorated is over a Network Rail (NWR) and High Speed 1 (HS1) asset. Any resurfacing is the responsibility of KCC to liaise with NWR and HS1 to resolve.
