Damaged windscreen

Reported via mobile in the Pavement/footpath/cycleway/bridleway issue (NH) category anonymously at 12:16, Wednesday 14 May 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7568238.

I wish to make you aware that whilst travelling to Worcester on the M5 at 09:58am on Tuesday 13th May just past the 1 mile to junction 6 signpost, council/highway workers were strimming on the overhead bridge. As I approached the bridge there was an almighty crack noise and I knew the windscreen had been hit by a stone or such object. As there were no vehicles in front of me and I was on the inside lane the stone could only have come from the bridge, the highway maintenance vehicle was parked on the side of the motorway under the bridge. I have pictures of the damage and video footage as well of the workmen and then you hear the noise as the screen gets hit. I’m not sure which department I should be contacting so could you please advise as I’ve had to pay out £25 excess and now have to take time out of my job to drive to Tewkesbury to the screen repaired.

Regards

Chris
