Public footpath blocked

Reported via desktop in the Pavement/footpath/cycleway/bridleway issue (NH) category anonymously at 15:48, Fri 2 May 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7515834.

Thank you for closing my previous submission so promptly (ref FMS7478580). Hopefully you may take the trouble to verify your facts before closing this one: This is not an 'unoffical footpath' as you state, but a regularly used Public Footpath. You have no right to block it, and the block must be removed immediately and our rightful access restored. Although I agree motorbikes did on occasion use the path and create a rut, this would be easily resolved with either a stile, a kissing gate, or an adequately installed 'narrow access' barrier such that only people and not motorcycles could get through. Or you could just divert the water somewhere else. Causing such difficulty and distress to local residents because of an occasion trickle of water is completely unacceptable. Imagine what it is like to approach this from the other side only to find you exit blocked and up to a mile to retrace your steps just to get out onto the road again.
