Parking on footway and overhanging edge of carriageway markings outside car dealership

Reported via desktop in the Pavement/footpath/cycleway/bridleway issue (NH) category anonymously at 11:08, Tuesday 22 April 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7463926.

Surrey County Council and its local councillors are receiving several complaints about parking on the footway outside the car dealership next to McDonalds, which is also at times overhanging the edge of carriageway markings impacting on passing traffic. It has been explained this is National Highways jurisdiction but has been visited regardless by Surrey's parking team to see the problem. The local police are also aware of the issue and are looking into it. Some residents are asking for bollards, but we understand this can force drivers to park next to them on the carriageway, so ideally there would be double yellow lines from the junction of Stanwell Road up to the bus stop clearway, as after this point parking takes place entirely on the carriageway and well inside the edge of carriageway markings. Please can this be considered as this has been an ongoing complaint for several years now and more so in recent years.
