Extensive grafitti on overhead gantry sign

Reported via desktop in the Graffiti (NH) category anonymously at 12:33, Tuesday 15 April 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7438279.

There is severe grafitti on the overhead gantry sign on the M5 northbound approaching J2. The sight of it is offensive and the information on the sign is obscured resulting in a safety risk. In addition, it is a LEGAL REQUIREMENT to remove the defacement, as per Sections 48 to 52 of the Anti-social Behaviour Act 2003, within 28 days. This defacement has been present for at least 6 months. It is not acceptable to state that maintenance of signs is cyclical and will have to wait. It must be cleaned NOW.
