Absence of railings - dangerous crossing

Reported via mobile in the Pavement/footpath/cycleway/bridleway issue (NH) category anonymously at 10:28, Mon 14 April 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7431448.

The entry slip road to the southbound m18 at junction 6 is also a busy pedestrian area. There are around 30 houses on Waterside, and residents wishing to walk to the shops must cross two slip roads. The road is also heavily used by dog walkers, horse riders, runners etc. There are no railings around the slip road at all, despite there being railings on the opposite side of the A road. There is clear and regular evidence that HGVs mount the pavement when leaving Thorne to join the motorway. The pavement is extremely narrow, and is often full of nettles at one side, which means that pedestrians are in significant danger if a lorry mounts the pavement at that point. Please could you consider installing railings at that point, in order to protect pedestrians and ensure safer road usage?
