Blocked drains due to debris and litter

Reported via desktop in the Flooding/drainage (NH) category anonymously at 08:30, Wed 9 April 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7409028.

The stretch of the A5 from M42 J10 to Bonehill Tamworth needs desperate attention, including sliproads. There is a huge amount of debris and soil accumulating around the drains preventing adequate drainage of water. The gulleys are in desperate need of sweeping to remove the debris and litter which is contributing to these problems. Whilst this issue has been reported in previous years I have not seen any improvement to the gulleys and drains so this new report is highlighting the ongoing situation which has not been addressed at all. Major flooding will occur in the near future if the issues are not addressed. Thank you.

  • Thank you for making your report. We have asked our inspection team to attend this location and assess the issue.

If any work is needed, they will arrange for this to happen. Should no immediate work be required we will continue to monitor this during our regular inspections.
