Several trees in poor condition need removing

Reported via desktop in the Fallen/ Dead Tree (NH) category anonymously at 13:59, Fri 4 April 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7388554.

There are several large willow trees growing out over the motorway embankment from land owned by Hart District Council. A recent tree survey has shown they are in a dangerous condition and likely to fall onto the embankment and hard shoulder. They are heavily weighted towards the motorway, have large stress cracks in the main trunks, have already lost limbs, one tree has bracket fungus on it halfway up and another has already fallen onto the embankment. The willows require removal / pollarding but have been advised that this has to be done from the hard shoulder. Other tree works are also required, removal of several dead alders in the woodland edge but these can be done from within the wood.
