Graffiti on bridge support

Reported via mobile in the Graffiti (NH) category anonymously at 19:50, Sat 29 March 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7357887.

The graffiti/Tags are getting really bad so so many on probably all the bridge supports it looks horrendous. Plus the amount of litter alone the hole of the A5 is disgraceful. Also the lonely traffic cones seem to not get picked up.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways about graffiti.

We aim to remove or cover offensive graffiti within 24 hours of our inspection.

Non-offensive graffiti is dealt with under planned cyclical works and therefore can take longer to remove.

We will arrange for our local inspector to look at this on his regular safety inspection of this route and they will arrange a suitable solution.

Under the Environmental Protection Act 1990, we’re responsible for collecting litter on England’s motorways and a few other strategic trunk roads. Local authorities are responsible for collecting litter on the remaining trunk and local roads, including the A5. Please contact the local authority to resolve this issue.

    Kind regards National Highways
