Along the length of the A46 here, south to the next junction, soil has accumulated against the central reservation and grass is growing on it.

Reported via desktop in the Road surface (NH) category anonymously at 18:49, Mon 24 March 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7331002.

If a vehicle traveling at speed loses control and impacts the central reservation the multiple turf mounds along this section of the A46 make is highly probable that the vehicle will flip over, rather than the central reservation keeping the vehicle straight and upright as it decelerates. This significantly increases the likelihood of serious injury to the occupants and the likelihood of other vehicles being implicated, included the opposite lane. The grassy mounds indicate a serious longterm failure in highway maintenance.
