Surface or obstruction causing false alarm.

Reported via desktop in the Road surface (NH) category anonymously at 17:08, Friday 21 March 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7316358.

Since the new road works, my car's Forward Collision Avoidance system activates and remains on for the remainder of my commute. This used to happen at the bottom of the dip, just past Shotwick Lane heading towards Deeside, (not on the return journey). It seems that spot was possibly investigated and a couple of bollards removed and replaced. It now occurs 100-200 yards further up the dip, on top of the incline. Nothing obvious on road or at the side, but something clearly sets off the FCA. This can't just be my car surely? I've read that road surfaces can sometimes reflect false detections?? Be interesting to find out.
