They Should Be 1 Lane on this sliproad but at the end of the sliproad make 2 lanes open up, so close lane 1 on this sliproad and keep lane 2 open but when you get to the end of the sliproad make 2 lanes open up because where the work exit is not a safe place to join the A1 So move the works exit futher down the sliproad and close lane 1 but at the end of sliproad open 2 lanes, This is Needed Because its safer, and can you add the roadworks signs back some are missing E.G Kibbh and Team Vally and low fell For J67 sign missing and other signs

Thank you for your report on the National Highways Fix My Street website on 17 March 2025 regarding recommendations for the A1 Birtley to Coal House scheme around junction 67. I can confirm that as the works have been completed on the A1 Birtley to Coal House scheme (except for lanes over the New Allerdene structure where work is continuing underneath), therefore we cannot reinstall any temporary traffic management.. I can also confirm that the traffic management at junction 67 is Gateshead Council works, not the A1 Birtley to Coal House scheme. Gateshead are improving the footpaths to include a cycle path around the roundabout. If you have any enquiries regarding this work, please contact Gateshead Council on 0191 433 3000 Thanks again for contacting us, we hope that the above information has been helpful. If there’s anything further you’d like to ask or any concerns to raise regarding the A1 Birtley to Coal House scheme, please don’t hesitate to contact us by email on A1BirtleytoCoalHouse@nationalhighways.co.uk or telephone the customer contact centre on 0300 123 5000. You can also find more information on our scheme https://nationalhighways.co.uk/ our-roads/ yorkshire-and-north-east/ a1-birtley-to-coal-house/
