Significant subsidence at junction near side

Reported via desktop in the Road surface (NH) category by Gianfranco Rindone at 20:01, Wednesday 12 March 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7269716.

There is a significant (and growing) subsidence area around a manhole at the junction with Salvington Hill on the near side area of the east bound carriage. This cause both an hazard for vehicle stability in a 40 mph zone before a dangerous junction and also an itermittent and frequent very loud noise affecting the entire neighboroud because of the many lorries rattling over it. This frequent, sudden and loud noise is by far the greatest disturbance in terms of road noise and could be avoided having an even road.
