Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7243336.
I have been driving up and down the M11 for years and over the past few years I have noticed numerous potholes between Bishops Stortford (Junction 8) and Trumpington (Junction 11) that has been getting ever bigger and dangerous. The largest and deepest of these I have noticed recently seem to begin from the southbound slip road at Junction 11 to join the M11 and they continue for at least a few miles particularly in Lane 1. Some are not too deep but others are very deep and wide and very dangerous to have on a motorway! They seem to have started from small insignificant holes from a few years ago to becoming big craters that can do a lot of damage to tyres big and small but nothing has been done maintenance wise to monitor or fix these holes. Like I say it is not just this stretch of the M11 that is riddled with pot holes, You only have to drive a mile or so before encountering more! This whole section of the M11 from Junction 8-11 on both south and north bound carriageways needs urgent maintenance and resurfacing before a very serious accident occurs or at least the very deep potholes should be filled in to prevent future accidents or breakdowns. I am writing this for the safety of all motorists not just myself! Please can the National Highways team use some kind of surveillance to keep track of these pot holes and take action as required! Thank you for your time.

Thank you for making your report regarding the road surface condition on the M11. We have asked our inspection team to attend this location and assess the issue. If any work is needed, they will arrange for this to happen.
Although we always aim to complete repairs as quickly as possible, timescales do vary as we try to minimise disruption to customers by combining activities into single closures and always ensuring the safety of our people.
Kind regards National Highways
