Request for Yellow Box Junction Markings at bingham road/ carter avenue radcliffe on trent

Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 18:21, Thu 27 February 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7201096.

DEAR HIGHWAYS ENGLAND

I hope you are well.

I am writing to request the installation of yellow box junction markings at the traffic lights at Bingham road/ Carter avenue, Radcliffe on trent. As residents, we are frequently experiencing issues with drivers queuing across the lights, blocking the junction, and causing unnecessary congestion. This not only creates frustration but also poses a serious safety risk.

On multiple occasions, I have witnessed vehicles being stranded in the middle of the junction when the lights change, leaving them vulnerable to oncoming traffic. Unfortunately, many drivers do not consider the impact of blocking the junction, and without clear road markings to deter this behavior, the problem persists.

A yellow box junction would help to ensure that the area remains clear, allowing for smoother traffic flow and reducing the risk of accidents. I would appreciate your consideration of this matter and any steps you can take to improve the situation.

Please let me know if further information is required, and I look forward to your response.

This will also be passed on to our local councillors and MP's
