Excessive graffiti/tagging

Reported via desktop in the Graffiti (NH) category anonymously at 00:18, Thursday 20 February 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7160239.

Every year this gateway to Bristol has an ever increasing degree of mindless graffiti vandalism and no attempt has been made to tackle it. It is an absoltue eye watering embarassment as the major gateway into and out of Bristol to look in its poor sorry state that it is currently.

Please can a plan to reverb this be put in place, I appreciate keeping on top of issues with graffiti vandalism is challenging but that does not mean we should neglect it regardless.

I hope you can satisfy me of a plan to tackle this as best as can be both in the existing and steps such as cctv coverage increase etc to reduce future incidents. It's not pleasant to say the least. It deserves better!

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways about graffiti on the M32. We appreciate you taking the time to contact us about this.

We aim to remove or cover offensive graffiti within 24 hours of our inspection.

Non-offensive graffiti is dealt with under planned cyclical works and therefore can take longer to remove.

We will arrange for our local inspector to look at this on his regular safety inspection of this route and they will arrange a suitable solution.

We're not an enforcement agency so we wouldn't install cameras. The police would be responsible for matters of this nature.

    Kind regards

    National Highways
