Litter and waste

Reported via desktop in the Slip Roads (NH) category anonymously at 17:54, Sat 1 February 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7070325.

Hi,

The A1 between Durham and CLS had a full cut of bushes and litter pick recently, but the slip lanes were cut and not picked. This has exposed loads of rubbish but for some reason, whilst the main road was picked, the slip lanes on and off were not. The council have recently revisited the area around the roundabout that is theres, but then you pass a lot of rubbish down on and off the A1 here. Since you did the main carriageway, is there a reason the slip lanes were left but the bushes were still cut back? Are you able to pick along here whilst the undergrowth is clear?
