As a resident some distance away from the M25 motorway between junctions 11 & 10 we experience on most days excessive noise pollution caused by the inadequate road surface and joints between the concrete sections which the road is constructed from. This noise pollution is 24 hours a day and some days depending upon weather and climatic conditions the noise pollution is extremely loud and can be heard within the house. This has been a problem since the original concrete surface was installed and has only got worse over time due to deterioration in the surface and the ever increasing volume of traffic. There is a very large number of households in Addlestone and Byfleet and other areas this effects, some sort of alleviation is required as the current acoustic fences etc are not fit for purpose and a lot of them appear in a poor state of repair anyway and any repair to the road surface joints has not made any difference that I can notice.

The noise from the M25 traffic is a night long experience, I rent so I can’t do anything about sound proofing, especially the bedroom, I moved to this house a month ago and it’s already driving me mad. I have even taken recordings of it at first wondering what it was and where it was coming from, now I know. This is totally unacceptable and causing me extreme anxiety and distress not to mention sleep deprivation.
