Large sunken road area in M3 Southbound 3m x 3m - patched with concrete but large dip in carriageway

Reported via mobile in the Road surface (NH) category anonymously at 09:47, Monday 13 January 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6971218.

There is a large area of patched concrete in M3 Southbound but this has sunk and it is now creating a danger for road users due ti the speeds and uneven surface of the road at this location (as this is a 70mph road). It is between lane 2 and lane 3 just as you go up and over the roundabout of Sunbury Cross (which the M3 passes over) and it is on the flyover section on the M3 Southbound.. it is almost parallel to the building called “the View / Sunbury Cross shopping centre TW16 7UB. The defect is around the location in the picture I have sent from google maps

Updates

  • This large sunken dip has not be repaired or inspected yet…. When vehicle pass over it at 50-70mph it is very dangerous. It takes up most of lane 2 and almost half of lane 3

    Still open, via questionnaire

  • This dip has still not been resolved, and feels like it's getting worse. Particularly dangerous and it's just over the crest of the hill, not really visible, and it's at a point where cars are accelerating up to 70mph to join the motorway speed.
