Damaged road signs.

Reported via mobile in the Damage to Sign (NH) category anonymously at 08:36, Saturday 11 January 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6964383.

On M56 whilst heading in the direction of Manchester, there's numerous roadsigns that are badly peeling away and cannot now be read properly. The signs have been like this for a long time and should be replaced to make good again. Standards seem to be dropping on our road network and should be raised again, as expected from an advanced country.

  • Thank you for making your report. We have asked our inspection team to attend this location and assess the issue.

If any work is needed, they will arrange for this to happen. Should no immediate work be required we will continue to monitor this during our regular inspections.

Although we always aim to complete repairs as quickly as possible, timescales do vary as we try to minimise disruption to customers by combining activities into single closures and always ensuring the safety of our people.
