Multiple blocked drains and overgrown vegetation

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6953733.

Every drain, watercourse and verge along the A27 from M275 to Emsworth is overgrown, blocked or full of weeds. Water can not run off the carriageway and is pushed back on, causing aquaplaning.

  • Thank you for making your report. I’m so sorry to hear about the overgrown vegetation you’ve observed and the safety concerns this is causing by flooding. I’ll be assisting with your query and have passed your case to our Highways Inspector to investigate this further. Before they can provide a more detailed response, they wanted to ask if you might be able to provide some further information. Please could you supply us with photographs of the area of concern and a what3words location. Some of the area is maintained by us, and some is maintained by the local council, so we need to ascertain the exact location. Once we have that information, we’ll pass it onto them, and they’ll be able to investigate this matter further. We look forward to your response.

    Although we always aim to complete repairs as quickly as possible, timescales do vary as we try to minimise disruption to customers by combining activities into single closures and always ensuring the safety of our people.
