Sunday morning 5 Jan, 5am. All gantry signs between Slough and East Reading set to 40 mph with temperatures above freezing. (We had just driven overnight from the Alps in rainiing, sub zero conditions (520 miles to Calais. 3.30 am Shuttle Crossing.) Traffic self regulated to 40/70 mph. on the French autoroutes Were the signs on the M4 incorrectly set?
