Sadly no progress on resolving this safety critical issue

Reported via desktop in the Not working (NH) category anonymously at 21:53, Fri 3 January 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6928641.

Despite many reports of these lights not working the latest report from National Highways is as follows: "I’m extremely sorry that we cannot provide a date for the lights to be repaired at this time. Please be assured that once we have a solution for our lighting repair issues, then this will be addressed as it has been reported several times- not only by yourself but others who have concerns for the lighting not being operational. "

Given the complete lack of night lighting at this spot now it is unacceptable that this issue has not been resolved after three plus months.

Updates

  • Thank you for making your report.

We are aware of the issue and are currently working on a solution that will enable to fix our lights on the A27.

For lighting on the bridge, we refer you to Hampshire County Council Highways as we have been advised by Havant Borough Council Environmental Services that they are not responsible for the lighting on this bridge, but they will see to the wet leaves and litter on the bridge in the meantime.

Due to various reports from yourself on this platform about the same issue, as Fix My Street is a reporting tool only please kindly contact us via our Customer Contact Centre. We’re available 24 hours a day by phone: 0300 123 5000 or by email: info@nationalhighways.co.uk. We'd encourage you to refer to our complaints procedure here: https://nationalhighways.co.uk/ about-us/ complaints-process/ as you’ve been consistently dissatisfied with our responses on here.

Although we always aim to complete repairs as quickly as possible, timescales do vary as we try to minimise disruption to customers by combining activities into single closures and always ensuring the safety of our people.

    Kind regards National Highways
