60MPH Flashing before 50MPH Speed Camera

Reported via mobile in the Electronic Sign (NH) category anonymously at 08:21, Wed 1 January 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6917131.

Illegal placement of flashing 60mph speed sign on M606, as you can see within less than 10 car lengths it changes to a mandatory 50MPH Speed camera Fixed camera flashing drivers wrongly please change the speed size to 50mph flashing from the wrongly 60 mph shown as this is misleading and catches out so many people , please visit the area and see my google street view photographs

  • Thank you for your report regarding a 60pm speed sign on M606.

This relates to a permanent single matrix sign in the central reserve. This matrix sign is set to 60mph and is 137m away from a hard 50mph sign, so drivers should be naturally slowing down. The signals in this area are advisory speeds.

I can confirm that the lane signalling rules wouldn’t let us set this if this was either unsafe or unlawful.

    Kind regards
