Iron works removed from drainage gully on cycle path

Reported via desktop in the Pavement/footpath/cycleway/bridleway issue (NH) category anonymously at 11:04, Wed 18 December 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6876171.

Iron works removed from drainage gully running adjacent to cycle path at entrance to Lancing hand car wash. In dark and with path/gully flooded I was thrown from bike when wheels became trapped in exposed gully. Proprietor of garage indicated that iron works had been removed by Highways Agency staff in preparation for drain and gully cleansing/clearing. No bollards or signage protected the open gully
