  • Thank you for reaching out to us regarding the issue with the bridge entrance tarmac.

    Our inspector has visited the site to carry out a detailed investigation, and I’d like to share the findings with you.

    From our assessment:

    The dip in question is located on the local authority road, as confirmed by our boundary map and our Structures team.

    National Highways is responsible for maintenance within the first 3 meters from the bridge joint. However, measurements taken during the inspection show that the settlement begins beyond this 3-meter boundary.

    As a result, this issue falls outside of our maintenance responsibility and is under the jurisdiction of the local authority. We recommend contacting your local council to address this matter further. You can find a link to the West Berkshire Council here - https://www.westberks.gov.uk/
