Bridge over M4 in Holyport appears to have moved slightly

Reported via mobile in the Structures (eg bridges, fencing, noise barriers) (NH) category anonymously at 20:12, Sat 7 December 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6832773.

It would appear that the middle section of the new bridge has moved slightly. When driving over it you can feel a bump in the road on both ends. It seems to be worse driving towards Maidenhead.

Updates

  • Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us about the bump you’ve noticed when driving over the new bridge. We’re really sorry for any inconvenience this has caused during your journey, especially on the Maidenhead-bound side.

We want to reassure you that we’re aware of this issue, which has been caused by excessive settlement of the bridge deck. This has resulted in a slight ‘ramping effect’ as vehicles approach or leave the bridge.

We will address this as part of their latent defect period.

    Kind regards National Highways
