M62 shut & delayed most of the day and with the traffic back log only just settling, some bright spark has decided it was still a brilliant idea to commence roadworks and bring the road network to another grinding holt between J25 & J28 M62. Best part of highways England could not run a bath never mind an efficient road network.

  • Thank you for making your report. As you noted the M62 was closed for a period during the day on 29 November due to a serious incident involving a vehicle fire. We appreciate that this caused significant delays but we needed to prioritise the safety of our customers and workers.

    In response to the incident, scheduled roadworks due to commence at 20.00 were delayed and we were monitoring traffic levels. However, by 20:20 delays had reduced and traffic was coping well. Therefore, scheduled works were able to resume.

    We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience that you experienced and thank you for your patience.
