Dangerous darkness

Reported via desktop in the Not working (NH) category anonymously at 15:38, Thu 28 November 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6797149.

A number of lights are not working / have never been replaced. Cycles crossing the junction in any direction are at serious risk. Lighting column on roundabout at south side is defective (west side of bridge). Lighting tower/column on island in middle of Rawling Way has just one orange light shining at times. Too dark if there were any others which should have been on. The amount of light transmitted to the road is neither use nor ornament. On A63 eastbound exit sliproad (toward Madeley Street) - where the sliproad starts before Fishermans Walk - the first two lights are out. Lamps that were previously fitted to the underside of the bridge (four total) have never been replaced after failing/falling off. Location has high number of cycling collisions. Please assess and improve lighting to a standard where cyclists are safely illuminated.
