Temporary traffic lights set up but abandoned, at set to work at rush hour when people are trying to get the children to school on time, causing miles of backed up traffic in each direction

Reported via desktop in the Abandoned Materials (NH) category anonymously at 13:07, Thu 28 November 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6796330.

Temporary traffic lights set up but abandoned, left to work at rush hour with no roadworks even started, when people are trying to get the children to school on time or get to work on time, causing miles of backed up traffic in each direction. This is a major road here, with no alternative option to avoid these roadworks. Moreover, this roadworks are not showing on your website today ! Miles of traffic jam all the way to half way of the Dalton by pass, and all the way deep into Ulverston in the other direction. A lot of people are going to be late this morning, this is very poor.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways

We are sorry you to hear you have been affected by the work we were doing to maintain our roads. We make every effort to carry out the work we do to cause as little disruption as possible in terms of both traffic using the road and nearby residents and businesses.

Unfortunately, it is not always possible to do this without causing an element of inconvenience or disturbance in one form or another and for this we apologise.

Please be assured we aim to complete the works as quickly as possible and will pass your comments to the relevant team to see if there are any steps that could be taken to alleviate the issue. We apologise the traffic signals had been placed in location earlier than the work starting.

    Kind regards

    National Highways
