Traffic lights insufficient to enable safe traffic flow

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 21:23, Wed 27 November 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6793846.

There needs to be additional set of traffic lights at the M27 junction 5 roundabout just before A335 (stoneham way) joins the roundabout from the south. If you are approaching this junction from A335 in the south then you normally have to wait 10-20 minutes in standstill traffic before you are able to join. The difficulty of joining this roundabout leads drivers to resort to pushing onto the roundabout in a dangerous way as there is no safe opportunity to join. This is due to the insufficient placement of traffic lights and there being insufficient time between other sets of traffic lights on the roundabout turning green. This needs urgent fixing before there is an accident at this junction.
